Welcome to the Captain's page of our Web site.
At the Clubs' recent AGM on the 26th March 2010, Bill Davey was presented with the coveted Captain's green Jacket by our outgoing Captain, Bob Foster.

Mr Captain writes:
I was born in Clacton-on-Sea, and have lived locally all my life.
For the past 50 years I have worked in the Plumbing and Heating trade, the last 26 years in my present business, Heating Warehouse Ltd.
In January 2009 I semi retired, allowing me more time to spend with my wife, and golf the sport I enjoy.
I first got hooked on golf 24 years ago, and have been a member of Clacton Golf Club ever since.
In February 2009, I was elected Vice Captain, leading to my proud moment in March this year, when I received the coveted green jacket and Captaincy.
I am looking forward to enjoying my year, with the honour of representing our club at home and away, and to play with as many members and guests as possible.
We are a proud and friendly club, and welcome all visitors to come and play our excellent course, and use the facilities available.
At the same time, try to beat our present course record of gross 63, set in 2009 by our 16 year old elite junior, England and County player Ben Herbert, with a plus 3 handicap.
In conclusion, I extend my best wishes to Penny Merrell our ladies Captain, for a successful and enjoyable year ahead.
