Junior Captain 2017

Thanks go to our immediate past Junior Captain Riley Faulkner for his commitment and example to his fellow juniors at Clacton-on-Sea Golf Club.

Junior Section

Clacton-on-Sea Golf Club's junior section consists of nearly 60 juniors.

Last season the juniors played in the most prestigious team event in Essex, the Youth Shield. The Youth Shield consists of the best five junior golfers from each club playing against each other in a knockout series. The juniors at Clacton made it all the way to the final for the first time in 20 years, narrowly missing out when they were defeated by Chelmsford.

Junior Open 2016

Last year Clacton hosted its first junior open since 1998, under the initiative of junior organiser and PGA Professional, Samuel Teer. The day was a huge success with 30 juniors from multiple golf clubs across Essex, and further afield, competing against each other.

The scores were as follows: 1st Clacton's own Wilf Elliot with a net score of 68; 2nd Harvey Bell (Clacton) with a nett score of 69; 3rd Samuel Bruce (Clacton) with a nett score of 71; 4th Jake Wells (Frinton) with best gross score of 76.

Junior Coaching

The junior coaching is organised and run by Samuel Teer. The coaching programme takes place on a Saturday (12-4pm) consisting of four hourly groups containing up to eight juniors per group. The groups are arranged from
beginners to single figure handicap golfers. The lessons are a mixture of swing technique and competitive games, all aiming to improve the individual - and most of all to have fun.

Clacton-on-Sea Golf Club is increasingly proud of their junior members; we offer them the best in both coaching and facilities in the hope that we develop young, courteous and ambitious golfers.
