Women in Golf Charter

Women in Golf Charter at Clacton-on-Sea Golf Club
We are delighted to announce that England Golf and the R&A have certified that Clacton-on-Sea Golf Club is a registered signatory of the Women in Golf Charter.
The Women in Golf Charter intends to inspire an industry-wide commitment to developing a more inclusive culture within golf around the world and enable more women and girls to flourish and maximise their potential at all levels of the sport.
Adoption of the Charter requires us build on and develop initiatives which will focus on encouraging more women and girls to play golf and stay within the sport as members of clubs, while also empowering women to enjoy successful careers working within the golf industry.
Clacton-on-Sea Golf Club have made the following commitments as our contribution to supporting the delivery of the Women in Golf Charter.
• To achieve and maintain 30% female representation on our Club Board/Other Committees with role descriptors that are not gender-specific.
• To develop an inclusive approach with female imagery displayed throughout the Club and on Club websites, social media, local community groups and continue to increase the display of Ladies Golf Leaf boards in the main Clubhouse and display our Women in Golf Charter certificate in a prominent location.
• To deliver an annual initiative targeting women/girls/families that is aligned with England Golf campaigns.
• To have a major recruitment drive to achieve an increase in the number of actively playing women members.
• To reinstate the golf buddy network to successfully integrate new members into the Ladies Section.
• To capture and record a baseline of all the key measures we are committing to within the charter including membership data for our club to determine the impact of the Charter.
• To appoint a designated Charter Champion helped by others within the club who can assist with the promotion and reporting of the Charter.
• To assist with the adoption of the Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity Policy.

Diana Maddox has been appointed as the Clacton-on-Sea Golf Club Charter Champion.
