Welcome to Clacton on Sea Golf Club Ladies Section. We want you to get the most out of our club, making new friends, improving your golf but most of all having fun.
Joining a new Golf Club can be a bit daunting, whether you are just starting golf or even a seasoned player. We all remember the feeling of being new and we are here to give you a warm welcome.
The committee will ensure that all new members are provided with a ‘buddy’ who will show you around, answer your questions and introduce you to the club.
We have 81 Lady members most of which play in our Ladies section. We are a thriving, sociable and friendly group. We meet every Tuesday throughout the year and participate in both competitive and fun competitions.
Club Competitions
Qualifying monthly medals are held from March to October and Stableford competitions are played throughout the year. Regular fun competitions are organised including Betterball, Foursomes and Greensomes, as well as ‘Clacton’ Texas Scramble and other formats. Ladies are also welcomed to play in the regular Club Mixed competitions.
Competitions
The Ladies’ Section is actively involved in County Interclub matches such as the Bronze Sheild, Harris Bowl and the Munro Foursomes competitions. We also play in Friendly matches with local reciprocal surrounding clubs. We enter teams in prestigious National events, such as the Daily Mail Foursomes, Coronation Foursomes, Australian Spoons and the Kyocera Annodata.
Lessons
Individual lessons are available with our Professionals, as well as an excellent indoor Swing Studio which enables club checking.
Practice facilities include a putting green, chipping green and an excellent practice/teaching area.
The Social Side
The Ladies’ Section is proud of its active social programme, which brings the members together for a wide variety of activities: Ladies’ Coffee Morning, Bridge Drives, Quiz Nights, several dinners during the year and a full programme of events organised by the House Director.
In addition to this website, there is a Facebook group for the Clacton on Sea Golf Club, Ladies Section which contains lots of useful information about events and the golf activities within the ladies section of the club - and of course, many photos from previous competitions and social events.

Welfare Officer
I have been a member of Clacton Golf Club for 36 years. I play with the Ladies’ section and also in mixed club competitions. I am now retired but when I was working I dealt with different age groups. I keep active with committees and clubs in my local area. I have been on the ladies committee coming up for 8 years in various roles. I have 6 grandchildren who keep me on my toes!
