Thornton Cup Team through to Round 3

On Sunday 11th May our Thornton Cup Team, led by Captain Steve Parkes, had a great result in the second round of the Thornton Cup against West Essex. They won 11-4 with some great individual performances, and are now through to round 3 V Boyce Hill. This is taking place on Sunday 22nd June, playing at home, 08:30am & 13:34pm.

Superb Clacton retain the Boudica Bowl!
On Saturday May 31st current holders of the Boudicca Bowl - Clacton on Sea GC travelled to Braintree to defend the coveted trophy. Played for annually between Clacton; Colchester; Braintree; Frinton and Harwich with the five clubs hosting the tournament in turn.
In a very close finish, Clacton managed to retain the trophy by just 1 point from Colchester and 2 points from hosts Braintree. The overall results – Clacton 1st – 150 points. Colchester 2nd – 149 points. Braintree 3rd – 148 points. Frinton 4th – 144 points and Harwich 5th – 128 points.

Clacton Juniors
Clacton Juniors go from strength to strength!
A massive congratulations to Clacton-on-Sea junior - Coco Locke on winning the Colchester U14 Open on Friday May 30th with a great score of 41 points for the second year running, improving on her 36 points in 2024.

Congratulations also goes to our Juniors Youth Shield A Team who have won all six of their matches and are now through to the quarter finals. - Louie Brewer; Ashley Hodder; Vince Chung; Jay White; Stanley Smart and Charlie Beasley. Good luck from everyone at the Club!
On Saturday May 31st Clacton Juniors played for the May Stableford. First place with a fantastic score of 43 went to Charlie Beasley. In second place was Cooper Hayes with 40 points and third place went to Louie Brewer with 35 points.
Clacton Ladies
On Tuesday May 27th Clacton Ladies played their annual Linkwood Cup. Many congrats to Linda Wiggins winning with a net 67, closely followed by Hoon Locke with 68 and third place going to Anna Cowen with a nett 70.
On Wednesday May 28th Clacton Ladies played their Kyrocera match at Brett Vale. Unfortunately, Brett Vale proved too strong at home winning 3.5 – 1.5. Thank you to all of the team.
Thursday May 29th Clacton Ladies played Clacton Seniors for the Gage Cup. An intensely competitive inter-club match between the men and ladies with Clacton ladies winning well 5-3.

Clacton Men
On Sunday June 1st – 134 men played for the Captains Prize. In fair but windy conditions, Gary Harms playing some great golf took first place with 40 points. Three players were just one shot behind and on count-back Matthew Todd took second, Chris London third and James Hanks was fourth with 39 points. Some great golf by all – well done Gary!
