Pictured left - 9 hole Juniors who have just completed their 10 week Spring Term
Competition.

The Lady Captain’s Rosebowl was played on Tuesday. Ann Wright was the winner with
37 points. In second place Liz Strutt with 35 points and a close third was Lady Captain
Emma Cole with 34 points.

Anna Cowen & Cheryl Cowdery won their county High/Low match at home against
Burnham on Wednesday. A great score of 2 & 1 and through to the quarter finals.
The ladies Harris Bowl team had their first match in this years county league at home
against Forrester Park. Yet another wet day with rain for the first few holes but this did
not dampen the teams spirits and the team won 4 ½ - ½. A great start to the season for
the team.

On Saturday the Juniors had a great team win against Gosfield Lake at home in the
County Youth Shield. Team A, Coope r Hayes, Charlie Heffer, Jay White, Max Heffer &
Charlie Beasley all played well and secure a 4-1 win.

The 9 hole Juniors have had a fantastic spring term competition where their progress is
rewarded with the best 7 scores from the 10 weeks. 1st place goes to Reuben Bennett,
2nd was Zach Goodier & 3rd Oscar Devaux. Charlie Pain achieved the biggest handicap
reduction of 7.4 shots. A great achievement by all 14 juniors. Junior Organiser Helen
Chung thanked the generous sponsors Steve Yates & the Friday Moonlighters. Also the
support of parents and volunteers.

The June Medal was played on Sunday with some great scores in all divisions. Division 1
was won by Lee Hale with a score of 76-9=67. Hoon Locke was second with 79-11=68 .
The second division was won by Mark Cockburn with 87-19=68 and in second place was
Steven Chignell 85-14=71. Christopher Peters won Division 3 with 94-26=68 and Simon
Thomas second on countback with 92-21=71.

The Jubilee Cup team played their final group match at Rochford Hundred however their
opponents used their home advantage and proved to be the better team on the day with
the result being a loss of 5 ½ - 3 ½.

The seniors had a busy Monday with their weekly competition and also an interclub
match at home against Ipswich. The Seniors Weekly Challenge competition was won by
Keith Lamerton with 41 points playing off 16. Second was Philip Maxwell with 39 points
playing off 20 and in third place Peter Smith with 39 points playing off 12. The team
playing in the match against Ipswich had an emphatic 8-0 win. A great result and an
excellent effort by all the team.
